Your Next Steps

Deposit

An enrollment deposit of $300 is required to reserve your place at Mercer University. The deposit covers the $100 orientation fee and the $100 housing deposit. The remaining $100 is applied to your first semester charges. If you are eligible to live off-campus, the $100 housing deposit and the remaining $100 will be applied to your first semester charges.

In the event a student's plans for enrollment change, the deposit is refundable provided that a written request is received in the Office of University Admissions by May 1. Enrollment deposits that are on file on May 1, or made after this date, are considered non-refundable.

Financial Assistance / Scholarships

Qualified students will receive academic scholarship notification from the Office of University Admissions. Families are encouraged to complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Beginning in late December, the University will send admitted students a financial planning packet containing the FAFSA and other forms needed to apply for financial assistance. You may submit the FAFSA and other forms online, as well as access outside scholarship opportunities. Questions regarding financial planning should be directed to the Office of Student Financial Planning at (800) 637-2378, ext. 2670.

Campus Housing

Campus Housing

Beginning in February, students will receive a residential housing application and information booklet. Residence hall assignments are made based on the date the enrollment deposit and the completed housing contract they should have received from the University. An early deposit ensures the best campus housing selection available to new students.

Students whose permanent address is outside of the metropolitan Macon area are required to live on campus during their freshman and sophomore years. Exceptions are made for married students, veterans and students over the age of 21. Feel free to contact the Office of University Admissions with questions regarding housing.

Orientation

New student orientation days are held throughout the summer. Look out for the Online Academic Profile, which will be emailed to you before June. This profile will walk you through the first semester's class registration process and allows you to choose the summer orientation date that you wish to attend. New students also arrive on campus several days before returning students, in order to participate in Fall Orientation.

Please contact the Office of University Admissions with questions at (478) 301-2650 or (800) 840-8577.
