Advice to New Students: Don't be a tape recorder. It is very easy to find a school where you can sit in a classroom of 300 and be fed information without engaging or questioning anything in a meaningful way. Don't sell yourself short by just learning to retain information well. I have found comfort at Mercer in being someone confidently in control of my life's goals and dreams, not as a passive observer and recorder, but as an active and growing young person on an uplifting journey in my young life. Find a university that challenges and engages you to be much more than that.

Once you allow yourself the time to make connections with other students here, because you will, you will never want to leave this place. Somehow it will become part of you and you will never again refer to it as just your Alma Mater.
