2010 Online Academic Profile
Dear New Mercerian,
Welcome to Mercer University! On behalf of the Office of Academic and Advising Services, we are delighted that you are joining the Mercer family! Our office will assist you with registration, work closely with your academic advisor and help coordinate your orientation to Mercer.
In preparation for your enrollment in August, we ask that you following Online Academic Profile and Summer Orientation Registration. Doing so will provide us with information about your academic interests and background which will help ensure that you are as fully prepared for fall classes as possible.
A few important points to remember as you complete the Academic Profile:
- You will only be able to complete this profile one time. If you need to make changes to it later, don't worry! You will review this information with an advisor during Summer Orientation.
- If at any time you have questions about the Profile, click on the Frequently Asked Questions link. You will find most answers there.
- Include any AP or IB course credits that you think you will earn. Keep in mind, however, that Mercer does not receive confirmation of those credits until late summer.
- Tell us what classes you're interested in taking.
- Tell us if you are interested in any particular pre-professional track, such as pre-medicine, pre-law, pre-pharmacy. Academic tracks are not academic majors, but do require certain course work.
- Plan to attend a Summer Orientation day. We strongly encourage you to attend one (and only one) of these sessions where you will discuss your fall schedule with an advisor and learn more about Mercer. Rank the four available dates in order of your preference.
Should you have any questions about this process, feel free to call our office at 478-301-2078. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
C. Jay Pendleton, Ph.D.
Vice Provost
